Our new home

So after carrying dozen of boxes, building shelves for our books and papers, putting up new doors and putting down some walls, we moved to our new home.

We love it, we love it!!!

Every corner of it: it has so much character, with it’s wooden floors, wide windows and plenty of space.

The house feels like a little cottage in the woods with lots of green plants crawling everywhere and a cozy living room where we are sure we’ll share lots of great time.

Welcome to our new home!!!

Top 10 things to do in winter

So suddenly from one week to another: it's cold in Cape Town!!! Warm and beach days are a thing from the past... but wasn't just a few days ago that we were still walking in bikini tops and hawaiianas to get some Kawaii smoothies?!!!
How can a girl have some fun without stepping out into the cold streets? Well, looks like there are quite a few options! So, if you don’t feel like running in your lace tights in the rain you can still have a lot of fun in the comfort of your own home in winter!

Here are our top 10 things to do in these winter days:

1. Watch chick-flick movies
2. Do lots of handcrafts
3. Day spa with friends
4. Make a yummy chocolate dessert (cupcakes, brownies, muffins, etc... )
5. Host tea parties for your friends
6. Look through your old pictures and do some scrap-booking
7. Make a romantic dinner for your boyfriend or husband
8. Read a nice book

9. Make a perfect holiday gift list for… yourself... and go shopping

10. Sleeep!!!

The secret of Pandas: The blog

How to start our first entry? Well lets simply start from the beginning…
Hi, we are Amanda and Vicky and we are best friends!!! We met each other about 4 years ago in the first flat we shared together. Yes, quite weird but here’s the story…
Amanda was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Grew up in a beautiful house with her parents, dogs, sister and twin-brother. She’s being working as a Sales Director in the coolest surf brand for, lets just say, a few years. 9 years ago she met Darren, while dressed in a sexy playboy bunny outfit. Only a few weeks ago got married to him and had the most beautiful wedding you could ever dream with…. Now she is happily married to Darren and about to get a new member to their little family: a precious, tiny still, labrador.
Vicky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, grew up in the middle of the busiest city of the country and being trying to find herself for at least the last 10 years. Almost 4 years and a half ago, while doing a “work experience” or better called “self-paid long and awesome holidays” in Aspen, Colorado, she met her boyfriend Arri. Just to clarify, no plans of getting married yet and no shiny rock in her finger (bummer). So after skiing for about 4 month, she fell sooo deeply in love with this South African man/boy, that crossed the ocean and moved to Cape Town for him.
So as we were saying, we are Amanda and Vicky and we met each other in the flat where our boyfriends used to stay together, Littleton, apt5. Since then we have spent lots of time together doing all things that we: girls, love doing… from baking, handcrafting, dancing evenings and tea parties to Twilight premieres (can’t wait for next one) and girls surf missions. When the boys moved out of the Littleton flat, we moved in together and had the best time ever… Then we both moved with our respective men, Mands because she got engaged to Darren; Vicky because she wanted to be with Arri (or couldn’t afford the rent by herself…hehe, just kidding).
But now, after almost 2 years of being apart, is time to move back together and have some girly time… We found the perfect house in a little street in Camps Bay. It is said to be the oldest house of the bay… When you see the outside with its corrugated aluminum walls and mix and match windows, you’ll understand what we are talking about.
So 2 nights ago, while having some pasta and pizza at Primi down the road (and nice wine, by the way), we discussed all the projects for the new house: What we’ll do on the walls, what furniture we will get, deco, food we will cook, parties we will have, etc, etc, etc… And we thought: why don’t we keep a record of all these things? So then we said in chorus: “Let’s start our own blog”.
So this is it: a journal where we can share our ideas, projects, our successes and also our failures with other girls just like you and us…
“The secret of Pandas”... we hope you like….

Amanda and Vicky

Ps: And why “The secret of Pandas”? Well, for now let’s just say: what girl doesn’t like Pandas?
